Training Journey:
• Nique’s martial arts path is rooted in her Filipino heritage. From childhood, she learned the internal arts of hilot, ablon, and folk healing from her grandmother, continuing a family legacy of healers, teachers, and community builders. Her professional career as an educator spans a decade, teaching languages and meditation. These experiences distilled into Mayari Soul Combat, a curriculum designed to unite the healer and warrior aspects of Filipino martial tradition.
Teaching Philosophy:
• Nique believes martial arts is both protection and healing. She teaches with cultural awareness and compassion, creating safe spaces where women and survivors can rebuild strength, confidence, and community. Her integration of Filipino healing arts ensures that training nurtures both body and spirit.
Community Contribution:
• Through workshops and retreats, Nique shares Filipino culture and martial tradition with schools, festivals, and community groups. Her work ensures that martial arts is not only a path of combat readiness, but also a source of healing and empowerment for those seeking safety and belonging.
