INSTRUCTORS IN DEVELOPMENT CANDIDATES
Instructors in Development are members of our community who are beginning to step into teaching roles while continuing their own development. They operate as independent practitioners who lead study groups, assist with instruction, and contribute to the growth of the art in their local communities. At the same time, they remain actively mentored and supported as they refine their teaching skills.
A LIVING COMMUNITY OF TEACHERS
We believe teaching ability develops through experience, guidance, and reflection.
Our approach to instructor development is community-centered, not transactional.
Rather than producing identical instructors or rigid franchises, we support individuals who:
-
Take responsibility for their own learning and leadership
-
Contribute thoughtfully to their local training environments
-
Remain connected through shared practice, dialogue, and mentorship
-
represent the art through their own voice, informed by shared values and training.
Authorization and independence evolve naturally as clarity, consistency, and readiness deepen.

WHY JOIN A TRAINING CIRCLE
When you join a Training Circle, you’re not just attending classes... you become part of a living ecosystem of training and mentorship. Each study group is led by an Instructor in Development or an Authorized Instructor, all connected through the guidance and collaboration of a master instructor.
This structure ensures you receive the personal attention of your Training Circle host while remaining part of a larger, supportive community of practitioners.
