SAFETY RULES

Please read and understand the following before attending our training sessions and seminars.

  • INTEGRATE YOUR EGO

Having an integrated ego means that you have a reliable sense of your personal identity and of others. Your understanding of the two as different and separate from each other interact to form a sense of reality. The integration of the ego refers to the organization of the facets of your personality (drives, attitudes, beliefs, goals) and the separate parts of yourself (due to shame, pain, trauma, etc.) into a balanced whole.

  • NO LIVE WEAPONS AT THE TRAINING AREA AT ANY TIME

No guns, even unloaded ones and no sharpened knives at the training site.  Blue guns and blade trainers are acceptable.

  • REMOVE JEWELRY WITH SHARP PARTS

Rings can hurt or cut, necklaces can choke, exposed zippers and body jewelry can rip off skin.  Sometimes your personal items or clothing can be a potential injury to yourself and your partner.  Remove potentially hazardous items before training.

  • STICK TO THE DRILL

Stick to the drill, it is a part of a progressive plan to develop your skills.  Focus on the objective of the drill in order to build a foundation for the next phase of the training.  Do not surprise your partner with an unexpected move.  Aside from developing your skills we also want to avoid any injuries.

  • USE CONTROL

Be courteous toward your partner and use control when executing 2-person drills.  This will help avoid any injuries.

  • COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR PARTNER

Understand and respond to tapping out and safe words or utterances.  "Ouch!" means exactly the same as a tap.

  • KNOW YOUR OWN LIMITATIONS

Safety is always a factor.  Know your own limitations.  Don’t push beyond your physical limitations.  Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.  Part of knowing your own limitations is also knowing when to dismiss yourself, if needed.

  • DISMISS YOURSELF WHEN NECESSARY

Only you and nobody else knows what is going on with your body.  If you are physically hurting, if you are frustrated, upset, or not feeling well, please dismiss yourself to avoid potential injury to yourself or others.
